Revelation 2:1-7
“To the angel of the church of Ephesus write,
‘These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: “I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent. But this you have, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’
What is it like when you are in that right place with your first love?
All you can think of is that person. You can't wait for the moment when you can spend more time with them. You are completely enamored by that person and would be willing to do anything for them, without question, even to look like a fool to the rest of the world. You would do it just to bring pleasure to their heart, doing what you know they like, desire, love. You love to just look at that person, you love to hear their voice, you love their smell. You don't even have to talk the them, you are just happy to be with them. You want the whole world to know about this love you have for this person and how completely wonderful they are. Your friends, or anyone close to you really, are tired of hearing about it because that is all you ever talk about. That person is practically all you ever think about...
Return to your first love. Repent and do those first works. He wants all your heart, all your mind, all your affections.
I give you all of me, all of mine Lord!!
